There is no catch. These are federally funded benefit programs created specifically for military members and their spouses. No loan. No payback. No catch. The money exists because Congress allocated it — and it’s yours to use.

I'm Guard/Reserve, do I still qualify?

Yes. Army CA includes National Guard and Reserve Soldiers. AF COOL covers Reserve members of the Air Force and Space Force. Check your specific eligibility in the quiz.

I've already separated from service. Am I too late?

Most of these programs require an active status to access. If you’ve recently separated, some transitional windows may still apply, but the time to act is while you’re still in. If you’re approaching ETS or separation, this is exactly the right moment.
